Music for little ones' ears
Entertainer launches full-length CD for school-aged youngsters.
Local musician Marla Rosen is throwing a CD release party next weekend for her new recording Emotions. Designed for young children aged two to seven, the CD's tracks cover the range of human emotions, with easily comprehensible lyrics.
The music for the CD was written in Toronto and on an island in Thailand. Emotions was inspired by Rosen's previous projects with young children, such as her interactive puppet show and concert that toured Ontario, as well as the Imagination Workshop, a "hands-on" musical theatre and drama company for children. Rosen is also a performing arts educator and a certified Montessori teacher.
Several other musicians who worked on the CD are from the Jewish community, including Doug Lechinsky, Michael Friedman, and Noah Mintz.
The launch takes place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, at Wimaan Thai restaurant, 1063 West Broadway. Tickets are $5 and there will be puppetry, interactive singing and a CD signing. Refreshments will be provided.
